Plio-Pleistocene Western Retroarc Magmatic Evolution and Its Relation With Variable Subduction Settings in the Southern Central Andes (34-38 °S)

During Nazca plate steepening, the Plio-Pleistocene Varvarco Volcanic Field was emplaced in the western retroarc Andes, with arc-like intermediate lavas showing increasingly primitive signatures.
